So now that we are getting ready to move into a new home I am starting to research what my new decor is going to look like. As I often teach, if you have had the same style for 7-10 years it's time for an update or refresh to the space. Luckily it does not have to be an overhaul, just some new accent pieces and a fresh color palette. I must say that I am ready but like many of you, I can't afford to get all new furniture. So what can I do that is different but keep my original pieces? I think I've decided on going with a new neutral color palette. I am really attracted to this new trend towards grays & greige (that's gray & beige if you didn't already know). Plus, blue- BLUE has always been a favorite of mine because it reminds me of the ocean & so calming. So that's what it's going to be - I'm adding grays & blues to my color scheme- in all different shades. It's been really fun looking at the inspiration. The only negative to all of this? My trim- the WHOLE house is surrounded with oak wood trim- too yellow and too outdated. So... I guess that means I'm going to have to paint it all white- ALL of it. Humph- that's going to take awhile but the end result is so worth it. Minneapolis get ready... I'm bringing my style to you and it's going to shake things up.
